 Executive Team

Alessandro Renzi, Founder and Executive Director, Technology and Operations
Alessandro began Beyondus with the sole purpose to provide high quality Web design at costs that would allows small businesses to fit it in their budget. Alessandro strongly feels that a Web site can be an immense tool for small businesses to interact with their clients, and expand their business. Additionally, through Beyondus Alessandro decided to provide additional services like video, webcasts, print, and marketing which follow the low cost for high quality philosophy.

Alessandro formerly worked for four years in the Broadcasting division at CCBN. During his time at CCBN he managed a team of professional event and account managers, and was responsible for managing the relationships with over 500+ clients of webcast, IVR, and fulfillment products. Some of these clients included: Apple Computers, AOL, 3Com, Qwest, and organizations like the New York Stock Exchange, Security Exchange Commission, and the National Investor Relations Institute. Alessandro has drawn from his experience at CCBN because it has allowed him to have worked with such diverse clientele, and has allowed him to understand the needs that each industry has regarding the Web.

Alessandro holds a B.F.A. in Film and Video Production from the Rochester Institute of Technology at Rochester, New York.

Karen Renzi, Founder and Executive Director, Sales and Marketing
Karen has a passion for working with smaller sized businesses because she thrives on the entrepreneurial spirit that is so common among them. Karen’s hands-on experience in marketing communications enables her to identify targeted marketing strategies for our clients. She not only suggests solutions that will bring results but also those that will be the most cost-effective; and she routinely shares the tips and tricks for free and low-cost marketing she’s discovered with clients and colleagues.

Karen’s experience reveals a common thread of work with start-ups. Most recently, Karen worked to build a marketing program at GeoVantage, a high-tech start-up in the geospatial industry that specializes in digital aerial photography. Prior to GeoVantage, Karen served as marketing manager at Safari Books Online, a joint venture between technical publishers O’Reilly and The Pearson Technology Group. Karen also spent four years at CCBN, where she witnessed its growth from a 40-person start-up to a 250-person corporation. At CCBN, Karen managed all marketing activity for the Institutional Investor business unit.

Karen holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from William Smith College (Hobart and William Smith Colleges) in Geneva, New York.

Amy Reynolds, Account Manager
Amy brings 15 years of solid marketing, PR and project management experience to the Beyondus team in her role as Account Manager.  Amy’s areas of expertise include client communication and project management, and her creativity and marketing experience are a great asset when helping our clients determine just what they need to create a successful website or marketing campaign.

Before joining Beyondus, Amy served as Marketing Director for Wendy’s Restaurants and DiBella’s in Western New York for 9 years.  In that role, she led marketing efforts for 25 local restaurants, positioning these brands as quick service industry leaders.  Amy also has extensive experience in the non-profit sector, having worked as Special Events and Communications Director for the American Cancer Society and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, as well as volunteering for Children’s Hospital, Goodwill Industries and Make a Wish.  Amy graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. degree in Social Sciences, Multidisciplinary Studies.

Design

Ann Hackett , Graphic Design Consultant
Ann is an award winning graphic designer that has been in the advertising & marketing field for 9 years. She specializes in classy designs with a creative twist. Ann believes that every company needs a clean and creative identity to fully communicate to their customers.

Prior to joining the Beyondus team she worked at Business First of Buffalo, a business newspaper for the Western New York region. While there she designed numerous advertisements for local companies and in-house promotional and marketing materials. Prior to that, Ann worked for Intertech Digital and Appraisal.com. She is currently serving on the board for the Taste of Buffalo, where she is in charge of the Taste’s website and printing. Ann is a past board member of the Advertising Club of Buffalo, and a past Director of PR for the New York Junior Chamber and Vice President of Communications for the Buffalo Jaycees. She has a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Oswego State University in Oswego, NY and currently resides with her husband, Anthony, and daughters Alexandra and Ariana, in Buffalo, NY.

David Courtney , Graphic Design Consultant
David has been active in the advertising and design industries for the past eleven years. He has a unique eye when solving a client’s project, believing a great concept is only as good as the design that supports it and is only successful when it garners results. He enjoys utilizing other skills when working on projects whether its through an illustration, a linoleum cut, a wood engraving or photography.

Prior to joining Beyondus he was Senior Art Director at Cenergy Communications working with major national and international accounts, creating advertising and marketing materials to support and enhance their brands. Prior to that, he was Creative Director at Independent Health, one of the top ten HMOs in the country.

David’s work has won numerous awards including regional addys, national Mark Awards and most recently Best in Show (Packaging/Design) at the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirit Competition 2007. A graduate of Buffalo State College and winner of the  Dean’s Award of Excellence in Design, he has  taught classes in design communications at his alma mater as well as Canisius College and ECC. He lives in Buffalo, NY with his wife, Andalyn,  and 13 year old son, Frank.

Lisa Foulger, Graphic Design Consultant
Lisa is a graphic designer who's been creating visual communications solutions for ten years. Her designs are clean and sophisticated. She believes that to be effective a piece must first entice a viewer to want to look further and then gradually unfold the information. She enjoys using color, images and typography in creative ways, but believes that the communicating the message is most important.

Prior to joining the Beyondus team she worked at Herald Media, the company that owns the Boston Herald and 90 smaller newpapers around Massachusetts. There she designed promotional and marketing materials, including corporate media kits, print advertising, vehicle graphics, billboards and direct mail pieces. Prior to that she worked a few internet companies including Boston.com, the Web site of the Boston Globe. She has a B.S. in Studio Art with a Graphic Design concentration from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Charles Redman, Graphic Design Consultant
Charles Redman is an Illustration & Graphic Artist who produces crisp, clean, designs that are relevant to each customers' needs, with a distinctive appeal that provides a business greater visibility in their marketplace. Mr. Redman employs a careful blend of color, image, and text to create cohesive designs which have the versatility to be used across web, print, and multimedia applications. Charles' most recent experience includes the development, production, and completion of corporate identity, point of purchase, and direct mail projects for regional & national clients.

Bill Rogers, Graphic Design Consultant
Bill Rogers is an independent Art Director based in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. For over 15 years, he has worked as Creative Director for agencies in the Miami and Boston areas. He is an innovative and creative artist with a wide range of looks, styles, and experience in the art of creative direction. Bill's expertise is in transforming the client's vision and objectives into effective marketing tools for building business and brand. 

As Creative Director, Bill has created and produced a multitude of  award-winning creative work in print, direct mail, POP, transportation and outdoor advertisements for national and international clients including Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Air Jamaica Airlines, Jamaican Airport Authority, Brookstone, G.H. Bass Shoes, NorthStyle, John Hancock, HH Brown, Sun Computers and Beckman Instrument. His most recent work has been in the areas of real estate, travel and tourism, high-tech and a full range of consumer catalogs.

Beyond creative, Bill has successfully managed creative teams exceeding 25 professionals and is well versed in all areas of pre-press production. International photo shoot coordination and artistic direction are one of his many specialties, having coordinated and directed photo crews of up to 65 professionals for major Caribbean resorts.  Additionally, as a Photoshop expert, Bill enjoys the challenges and creative expression of image artistry and manipulation.

Dan Colon, Database and Web Development Consultant
Daniel is a seasoned veteran of designing and developing web applications using various server side technologies such as ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, and ASP.NET along side of MySQL, Access, Oracle and SQL Server. He is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer, and an A+ Certified senior consultant. He knows the hardware, software and network sides that make up the overall web solution. His current focus is delivering reliable applications and web services via the internet. As a degreed chemical engineer, he also has experience in radio-pharmaceutical manufacturing with Dupont Merck and has worked with distributive controls systems as a controls engineer at Honeywell.

Mark Halliday, Database and Web Development Consultant
With ten year's experience developing solutions that enable companies to meet their online objectives, Mark has been involved in diverse projects -- from social communities of interest to portals and online marketing management systems. Combining backend programming with UI design, he  seeks to deliver solutions that are intuitive for end users and effective at addressing the strategic and tactical needs of the business. In addition to web development, Mark is experienced in email, online, and database Marketing, and was responsible for managing the database marketing operations of a Fortune 500 high-tech storage company.

David Swift , Database and Web Development Consultant
Qualified Google Advertising ProfessionalDave has five years of freelance and professional web development experience. With a degree in computer science, he has a strong background in programming. Many of his applications utilize today's standards in HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL to create true solutions for businesses. As a developer, Dave has had the opportunity to work with many companies as well as individuals. He has worked with entrepreneurs, programmers, and designers to create cross-browser, cross-platform web projects for companies large and small. Taking the work beyond the code, Dave has experience with many tools such as Google Analytics, AdWord, and Sitemap. Peter Card , Flash and Streaming Media Consultant
Peter Card is a fresh new face who joined Beyondus in February of 2007. He recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. As a recent graduate, Peter brings the latest technology trends and newest design techniques to the table. His wide array of skills includes proficiencies in Flash, HTML, PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, Photoshop, 3d graphic design, and 3d animation. Database development using SQL, mySQL, and SQLServer are also no problem for him.

Mr. Card states that his view on websites is the same as any other aspect of his life, “If something is worth doing, its worth doing right”. He considers himself a perfectionist, and likes to take pride in the products and websites which he creates.

Jon Bizeur, Flash and Streaming Media Consultant
Jon Bizeur joined forces with Beyondus in early 2007. He is a recent graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. His creative hardworking style blends its self nicely with the Beyondus Company. Throughout his academic career he has developed and refined several skills and abilities that give him an edge in the multimedia workplace. This includes competencies in Flash, HTML, ASP, JavaScript, ActionScript, ColdFusion, graphic design, and 3d graphic design/animation. His secret weapon, however, is the passion he holds for is work and his drive for perfection. He also values the ability to adapt to new technology and standards in todays face paced world. Jon is a dedicated, devoted individual and he lets his work speak for itself.

Jef Hahl, Web, Video and Streaming Media Consultant
New Media is the emerging artistic medium of "digital art". It incorporates anything from Web pages to CD-ROMs to streaming video to digital photography. It's easily become Jef's medium of choice since it's a marriage of his two loves, computers and art. He specializes in digital imagery; both still and motion. New Media satisfies the right half of his brain by incorporating html, java and active source coding into his work, while distracting the left half of his brain with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Avid.

Jef's greatest asset is how he approaches his work. He sees it all as a puzzle. No matter what it may look like in the beginning, every piece always has its place, it just takes time to figure out where that place may be. There's always a solution to every problem and he envelops himself in the problem until it is found.

By getting his feet wet in analog video, still photography, and computer programming, Jeff started with the foundation of the medium. The foundation is often the most overlooked step in learning "New Media". After a bachelor of fine arts degree in film & photography, the designer in him emerged. He's gone on since then to working in London, Los Angeles, and under two different presidents in The White House. His works stretches across all mediums and his CD-ROM for the Binghamton Economic Development Alliance took first place in the Broome County Advertising Alliance "Digital Medium" category.

As he likes to say, "I incorporate each edge of the medium of New Media into my works and am able to then make a more complete product or piece..."

Dimitris Savalas, Video and Streaming Media Consultant
When Lowenbrau wanted to increase its market share in Greece, ad agency BBD&O turned to Dimitris Savalas to produce its first-ever television commercial for the Greek market. When Polaroid-US needed a DVD to help its sales force introduce and demonstrate its new optical products, Marketing Director E.B. assigned the project to Dimitris Savalas, who produced a seven-minute, high-definition video complete with VO, music and graphics.

Ever since he was a young man experimenting with Super 8 movies, Savalas has had a passion for film and video production, an interest honed by art school training, and developed and refined through many years in the advertising and promotion business. Today, this Greek-American has incorporated the industry's latest techniques and technological advances into his practice, ensuring the most contemporary production possible. His objective? To one day earn the name Dimitris Spielbergopoulos.

Seriously, he loves what he does, and it shows in his work.

Laura Balcom, Copywriter

Laura began her writing career quite by accident after graduating from John Carroll University in 2000 with a B.A. degree in Communications. Always an avid reader and writer, a job listing for an assistant editor at a publishing firm caught her eye. She landed the position and, as they say, the rest is history. Since then, Laura has gone on to work as a copywriter for two award-winning advertising agencies, both in Buffalo, NY. She joined Beyondus in 2007.

Laura'??s passion lies in developing world-class copy that captures the uniqueness of the client and helps them stand out from the crowd. Experienced in writing for both B2B and B2C audiences, she has worked with organizations in a variety of industries, including education, finance and banking, law, staffing and recruiting, manufacturing, and construction. Besides being a writer, she is also a wife, a dog lover, and a self-professed bookworm.

Lourdes Fernandez, Marketing Research & Analysis Consultant

Caycee Holt, Marketing Communications
Caycee joins Beyondus as an experienced marketer. She has over 10 years of experience in product marketing, marketing communications and Internet marketing in both national and international markets. Her experience in advertising, PR, direct mail, event management, collateral development, Web site development, copy writing and e-mail marketing gives her the broad spectrum of knowledge required to build successful integrated marketing campaigns.

Prior to joining Beyondus, Caycee was a marketing director at Creo/Kodak, where she led the marketing for their Seattle product team. Previous to this Caycee’s experience ranges from large financial services companies (Fidelity Investments and Dean Witter) to technology start-ups with less than 20 employees.

Caycee holds a Master of Science degree in Marketing and Communications, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, both from Boston University. She also attended the Master of Industrial Design program at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She is an active member of the American Marketing Association.
